2007 Evolo Skyscraper Competition: The Triad Complex - Project Description

The 54 story 596 foot tall Triad Complex visually and experientially exposes the potential synergy inherent in our vocations and the oppositions that make our lives more compelling.

The tower’s datum is a dynamically spiraling elliptical Venn diagram. Each ellipse is meant to house complimentary tasks or organizations on each floor to promote a dynamic interchange of ideas and resources. The sides of the tower are shaved to provide many offices with balconies. The top 5 floors contain shared conference spaces inside of an iconic egg form which provide dynamic views to the surrounding urban landscape.

The tower form itself suggests a sensual anthropomorphic quality that attracts the city despite its scale. The structural system is modeled after the natural integrity inherent in a variety of flora.

The podium form is the result of opposing wave patterns that provide an interactive park plane for visitors under which cultural, retail and entertainment programs are housed.

From some views, the tower appears to be walking through the park, and from others it appears to sprout from its base. In any case, it boldly exhibits innovative modes of interaction and existence.
